The CROSSEU General Assembly meets in Prague
2025-02-10
From the 27 to the 29 January 2025, the CROSSEU consortium gathered in Prague for the General Assembly, hosted by the Faculty of Environmental Sciences at CZU. During three days, the meeting encouraged discussion, brainstorming, and helped shaping the next steps of the project.
Strengthening Collaboration & Strategic Discussions
This hybrid meeting was an opportunity to present the progress made during the first year and to outline the next steps in the project’s implementation. The consortium engaged in work package presentations and topical group discussions. One of the key moment of the meeting was the exploitation workshop, dedicated to discuss the use of key exploitable results beyond the project's three-year lifespan.
These steps are essential to align the project's research and methodologies, to effectively develop a research-based framework to improve climate resilience and policy responses to socio-economic risks of climate change and extreme events in Europe.

Key Discussions & Highlights
Aligning methodologies across case studies on extreme climate events in Europe and the UK, ensuring a cohesive approach to risk assessment.Engaging stakeholders through a multi-scale, cross-sectoral strategy that integrates diverse perspectives and decision-making levels.Assessing policy frameworks to evaluate adaptation strategies across European regions and identify gaps in climate governance.Integrating geopolitical challenges, including the impacts of global climate events, COVID-19, and spillover effects on European socio-economic systems.
The Year Ahead: A Pivotal Phase for CROSSEU
As CROSSEU enters its second year, the focus of the consortium will be on consolidating research outcomes, ensuring policy relevance, and develop the Decision Support System. The project aims to provide actionable, science-based recommendations and tools to support climate adaptation and resilience across Europe.
